How do I book an appointment?
We welcome appointment bookings through our friendly reception team, who can be reached at (07) 5329 4595. Alternatively, you can request an appointment online via our website for your convenience.
Do I need a referral to see Dr. Beech or Dr Varidel?
Referrals from your regular dentist or medical doctor can help us create a more comprehensive treatment plan. Having a referral also makes you eligible for a Medicare rebate for your consultation. While a referral is not mandatory, it’s beneficial in ensuring the best care possible.
Cost of an initial consultation?
An initial consultation with our specialists are $150. If you bring along a referral and your Medicare card, you are eligible for a rebate of $78.05. TMJ consults are $250. As an AHPRA registered Specialist, we aim to make your care both accessible and affordable.
Will I need surgery?
very patient’s needs are unique, and so is each treatment plan. During your initial consultation, Dr. Beech and Dr. Varidel will review your concerns, medical history, medications, and any relevant tests (such as x-rays). In some cases, further investigations like CT or MRI scans may be required to ensure the best possible outcome. Rest assured, we put your comfort and care first.
What is the recovery time after surgery?
Recovery time varies depending on the type of surgery performed. Dr. Beech and Dr. Varidel will provide you with detailed post-operative care instructions to ensure a smooth recovery. He will also discuss what to expect during your recovery and when to follow up.
Is oral surgery painful?
At Integrated Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, we prioritise your comfort. Modern anaesthesia techniques are used to minimise discomfort during surgery. Our specialists will explain pain management options, including any necessary medications, to ensure you are as comfortable as possible throughout your treatment.
How long will I need to wait for my surgery?
Surgery scheduling depends on your specific condition and the complexity of your treatment. After your consultation, Dr. Beech, Dr. Varidel and their team will discuss a timeline and ensure we accommodate your needs as quickly as possible.
What to do in after-hours medical emergency?
In the event of a medical emergency, please contact your nearest hospital or emergency care centre. If you have an urgent concern related to your oral or maxillofacial health, please use the emergency phone number on the bottom of your post operative pamphlet.
What is oral pathology, and how is it diagnosed?
Oral pathology refers to changes in the tissues of your mouth, such as lumps, lesions, or unusual patches. If you notice any changes like whitish or reddish patches, thickening, or cysts, it’s important to seek an early diagnosis for proper treatment.
What happens if a biopsy is needed?
Biopsies are done to further examine the area of concern and determine the root cause. Once results are available, your diagnosis will be explained, and treatment options will be discussed to help prevent further deterioration and preserve oral health.
What is minimally invasive surgery and its uses?
Minimally invasive surgery includes procedures like keyhole surgery (arthroscopy) and Botox injections into the jaw muscles. These methods are less invasive and focus on reducing recovery time while addressing various issues. Treatment will depend on your symptoms, lifestyle, and desired outcome.
